A confidential space to talk
Many women carry a great deal before they ask for help — responsibilities at home, relationships under strain, past experiences they have never spoken about. Individual counselling offers a confidential space to put those things into words with a trained professional who is there only for her.
At TNI, individual sessions are led by the centre’s psychologists and form part of each client’s personalised treatment plan.
What sessions can explore
- The feelings, situations and relationships connected with substance use
- Stress, low mood, anxiety and sleep
- Past experiences, including trauma, at a pace that feels safe
- Self-esteem, guilt and shame — common barriers to recovery
- Practical goals for daily life, family and work
How counselling fits into treatment
Counselling works alongside the other parts of care. Insights from one-to-one sessions inform family therapy, relapse prevention planning and any psychiatric review, so each part of treatment supports the others. Approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational interviewing may be used within sessions.
A women-only environment
Some subjects are easier to talk about in a setting designed for women. TNI’s women-only environment is intended to make it easier to speak openly, without judgement.
Will what I say be kept private?
Discretion and privacy are central to TNI’s care. Your counsellor can explain how information is handled and when it would be shared, for example with your consent as part of family sessions.
